We are excited to announce that our documentary, “Thirsty Land” will be a featured event at the 3i Show in Dodge City, Kansas this coming October! Thirsty Land is the story about extreme drought, agriculture, and the water crisis in the Western United States and how these challenges impact farmers, communities, and the environment. A number of farmers, as well as Kansas officials and businesses are featured in the film. See the trailer here: https://vimeo.com/145177400
Film maker and producer, Conrad Weaver is working in coordination with the 3i Show to host three screenings at the B&B Theatres Dodge City Village 8 on the opening day of the show, Thursday, October 13. The show times are 5:30PM, 7:30PM, & 9:30PM. Weaver will be attending all three screenings, and will be available for a Q & A session following each screening. Weaver’s previous film, The Great American Wheat Harvest won a 2015 Regional EMMY® Award.
“I’m excited to bring the film to the 3iShow and hope to spur discussion, debate and interest in the issues related to drought, water, and agriculture. The idea for the film was solidified at the 3iShow in 2014, so it’s appropriate that we bring the film to this important region of the country that has seen it’s share of drought in the past number of years,” says Weaver.
Tickets are already available for the three shows at http://www.bbtheatres.com/dodge-city-village-8/film/132549/
In addition, we are looking for companies or individuals who would be interested in sponsoring these screenings and purchase advance tickets so 3iShow attendees could see the film free of charge. If you’re interested, please contact Conrad for details at 301-606-7794.
