Thirsty Land Screening Date Set for Sacramento

Emmitsburg, Maryland –
The documentary film, Thirsty Land, will be screened at the California Irrigation Institute conference on Tuesday, January 30, 2PM at the Hilton Sacramento-Arden, West 2200 Harvard Street, Sacramento, CA. The FREE screening event is being sponsored by the Irrigation Association and is open to the public.  Film maker, Conrad Weaver will be attending the event, and he will be accompanied by several people featured in the film. He will be available for a question and answer session following the screening.

Since it’s debut at the Water for Food Global Institute conference in Spring of 2016, Thirsty Land has been screened at universities in Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado, and Wyoming, as well as at conventions in Orlando, FL, Las Vegas, NV, and Los Angeles, CA. It was also a featured selection at the Tallgrass Film Festival in Wichita, KS and at the Clifton Film Celebration in Clifton, VA where it was nominated for Best Documentary.   In 2016, Thirsty Land also had a number of public screenings in theaters around the country, and most recently premiered on local PBS stations in California and Washington state.

“It’s been an amazing journey and I’m really thankful for the support of the Irrigation Association in the production of the film, and in getting the film promoted at screenings like this,” says Weaver. “It’s important to get this story out there, and I’m excited to be able to bring it to California.”  A full listing of sponsors and supporters is available on the film’s web site.
